Assume downed power lines are energized and dangerous. Dispatchers can request PG&E make-safe support as needed. Remember to avoid driving through flood water or on flooded roadways.įor emergency needs, threat to life of property, please call 911 and provide details to dispatch. Please drive with caution, slow down and provide extra space between vehicles. If traffic signals are down, please remember to treat all 4 – way intersections as a Stop sign governed intersection. Water and oil don’t mix, so the rain on roads with oil build up creates slippery and therefor hazardous road conditions. The rain can also create hazardous driving conditions, particularly given the oil and residue build-up on the roads since the last rain. Be sure to pick up sandbags early (see locations above) if you will need them, sign up for alerts and updates, fuel and charge cars, phones, and any other devices you may need in case of a power outage. Residents can help to prepare themselves by clearing any debris from drains on or near their property. The City has sandbags available for residents to pick up and use at locations across the City. Please be aware of slick roadways, local gusty winds, moderate to heavy rainfall, and minor small stream flooding from the rain. Starting Saturday, December 11th through Tuesday, December 14th, moderate to heavy rainfall is expected for the entire Bay Area, with gusts of 30-40 mph (55+ in higher elevations) and rainfall totals of 3-5 inches.Īs we enter into the heavy winter season, we encourage all City residents to be on the lookout and stay alert in response to our much needed rainfall.
